How to Get Through Weekends
Day 7 of keeping it simple. Have you been following along? What I have learned so far is that I am feeling better than I have in a long time, and it is all about food and some exercise for me. We all have different bodies, so we have to accept what our limitations are, which could be height, eye color, whether we have hair or not, and if we do, how dark or gray it is. Today is special because this is one of the first, if not the only weekend I can recall in a while that I feel great on a monday. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed the wine and cookies on other weekends, but I paid the price. Last Tuesday I was at 202.5 and 24%bf, which is the highest weight I had been in quite a long time. Last March I was down to 175lbs, possibly less, and it sure is easy for me to pack on the pounds. The way I got thru the weekend was to keep it pretty close to what I am doing during the week. So I did not have any bread, nor cookies, and just a few ounces of wine, but only on Friday night, otherwise I laid off the alcohol completely. This morning, I weigh in at 196.3lb and 23% bodyfat, which is a 6lb loss in 7 days. Not too shabby. If I can keep this going, I will be on my way to fully getting back to where I was. Fortunately I did not let it get out of hand so much that I ended up back where I started at 245lbs in June of 2012. The simplest way to get through the weekend and any other cravings is to focus on the long term goal and not the short term little pleasure. Those short term oreo cookie treats were definitely not worth it, especially seeing the results. I am focused on getting down to 10% bodyfat and that goal makes it easier to keep on eating real food. Having said that, I am getting pretty hungry and it is time for some morning Hashi Mashi! See you soon!
