I should probably call this the Weekly weigh or the monthly weigh because I have not done a daily weigh for a couple of weeks.
I went down south to visit my 93 year old uncle and had a few other assorted occasions in between.
So, I was away from the scale for several weeks and I think that is a good thing.
For the last 5 days I have been following a very simple regimen of several meals a day, mainly vegetables and some type of protein with almonds or pistachios for snack and a protein shake or two if I get even more hungry.
I have been concentrating on broccoli, eggplant, mushrooms and spinach for vegetables, chicken, whey protein, tofu, lentils and nuts for protein.
The good news is that I am closing in on my original objective of 25 body mass index of under.
I also feel that I am within reach of hitting 190 pounds fairly soon.
So for a new year’s eve, I am feeling confident that by the end of January, 185 pounds is well within reach.
Update – 185 pounds never happened
I had said:
The truth is that I want to focus more on reducing body fat percentage.
The strategy for that will be to continue to do weight lifting, stretching and HIIT or high intensity interval training.
I shoot for 2 miles or approximately 25 minutes total on the elliptical, a couple of minutes for warm up and cool down with HIIT in the middle.
For weights, I am now up to 135lbs for squats, 3 sets of 3 repetitions, I have a feeling I might be there for a while till I get to 5 sets of 5 repetitions.
For deadlifts my max is now 165 pounds and for bench press 135 pounds.
I will still keep doing pushups 3x a week and have been upping the amount of time spent on flexibility.
Tomorrow should be a great day for everyone to hop on board the wellness train.
But the truth is, I never got to 185.
Because reducing body fat is not a haphazard goal.
As much as I would love to say that you do not need to be aware of calories or portions.
I stand corrected.
As much as I like to think that you do not need any carbs.
I believe that creates more suffering than happiness.
Reducing body fat is comfortable and easy once you accept certain laws of nature.
Please share your own progress or the opposite so that we can all learn from our mistakes and successes.
Happy New Year!
