Today was a pretty good day as far as working out went.
The weather is still the pits.
I never feel too happy when the sky is so gray and the sun is gone and the cold front never turns away.
Nevertheless I got in a brisk 30 minute walk from Union Square to 47th street in lieu of doing the elliptical.
Cardio on the elliptical can get boring, even when doing it in HIIT, High Intensity Interval Training style, a minute slow and the next minute fast, rinse and repeat.
Yesterday I did a mile in 11 minutes and hopefully tomorrow I will see if I can beat that ‘record'.
Yea, I am no olympian, just trying to get into the best shape that I can.
So after my walk to the gym, I warmed up a bit with some stretches and then put 140lbs on the bar.
Monday I did 12 reps with 135lbs.
But today I was only able to do 9 reps with 140lbs.
I think part of the reason is because I did not have sufficient sleep last night, only about 5 or 6 hours.
Then I did shoulder presses with 70lbs for 12 reps.
Last was curls with 60lbs for 8 reps.
I will just stay at those weights till I can do 12 reps and then move on from there.
Food wise I had an Isagenix shake for breakfast, black beans and turkey for lunch, red kidney beans a whole egg, 2 whites a veggie burger and alot of spinach for dinner.
A few brazil nuts, roasted peanuts and avocado for snack.
Weight today was 195lbs, only 15lbs from my goal weight of 180!
