How to Lose 5 pounds in 5 days
Today is the 5th day since I started a new program to get back into shape. Yes, I have been on a roller coaster pretty much my entire life, but that does not mean that I have to give up. Last weekend I was up to 205lbs and really started to get nervous that not before long, I would be back up to 250lbs. It is so easy to get back to those very uncomfortable numbers. So, this last Monday, I resolved again to make another effort, not give up, get back in shape as best as I could, going one day at a time. What about all of the processed foods that I would be eliminating? Do I miss them? At this point, after 5 days, I would say no. I am not missing them. Here is what I am having consistently on a daily basis:
Berries, usually a pint or more of blueberries, blackberries or raspberries. They are growing on me, they are refreshing and we all know that they are good for us.
Almonds for snack when I am feeling too hungry.
Grapefruits, maybe one a day.
Avocado, at least one a day.
Papaya, again at least one a day.
Spinach, two to three cups a day.
Cauliflower, again one or two cups.
Morning star veggie burgers for protein.
Applegate organic roasted turkey breast for protein.
and red beans, pinto beans and/or white beans.
I chose beans as my main carb because they are easy to prepare and I need more than just spinach or lettuce for energy and it has been working out pretty good so far. In five days, I have lost five pounds. I started at 205lbs over the weekend and 24% bodyfat.
The main exercise I have been doing are squats, pushups and deadlifts.
I started with 5 sets of 10 pushups spaced apart by one minute. I am up to 16 pushups every minute and then 2 more sets of 10 for a total of 100.
Started with just the bar again for squats, went up to 65lbs and then 70lbs yesterday for five sets of five.
Started with deadlifts of 95lbs and will do 5×5 of 100lbs now.
