How do you like that? I was not even aware that yesterday I had hit 30 days of swimming. That was the plan, to try and find one thing to do consistently that was good and would be helpful to my mind, body and spirit.
So far it seems to be working out pretty well. I have been going mostly at night for about 30 to 60minutes, vacillating between 40 and 72 laps, I am not pushing myself too hard to hit 72, which is one mile every day because I also started the pushup challenge, which definitely tires out my arms and chest so they need some rest.
But, the main focus has been to be consistent, and at least for the last 30 days, that has been working.
Last night, I thought perhaps I can put up some links to either swimming pools or the YMCA/YMHA strong kid programs or new york cares to help fund swimming for kids. In addition, I hope to get an interview pretty soon with a swim coach who can further attest to the benefits of swimming not only physically, but on the mind as well.
So yes, this is a small victory for me, but it is actually bigger, because I set out with a specific plan and it has helped me to come up with new ideas along the journey.
Hope you all can help out either by volunteering of your time or donations, whatever the size to help kids, adults, everyone improve themselves through good activities, whether it be swimming or knitting, let’s just be consistent.
Thanks for all of your support. Hope to hear from you one of these days.
