7 Effective Good Breakfast Tips

Whats a good breakfast to lose weight ?

How many times have you wondered whats a good breakfast to lose weight ?

How many times have you just grabbed something out of the fridge for convenience?

Even if what you grabbed for breakfast is a pop tart?

How many times have you skipped breakfast?

Run off to work, thinking that you will make up for breakfast in a couple of hours which never comes.

And then when you thought you would have a good lunch to make up for the breakfast, an urgent meeting or crisis happens at work, and who suffers?

You, your poor body.

If you have 8 minutes, check out this video from Brandon Carter, who gives about as simple as possible diet plan ever to lose weight and get ripped.

So When do You Have Breakfast?

I am sure many of you skip breakfast, because if you are like me, then you typically are working or studying all day and do not get in your main meals until after 5 or 6 in the evening.

This assumption that many of us skip breakfast is backed up by data.

A recent survey by the NPD Group found that 31 million Americans, about 10 percent of the U.S. population, do not eat breakfast.

You will probably not be surprised to learn that skipping breakfast is associated with obesity.

You might also realize that your main meal of the day does not start till you get home for dinner.

Dinner Time Breakfast

That is probably the worst time to start having your meals, since in fact you are winding down for the day.

Even the sun is setting, and in the same way, the day is coming to an end, so that is not the time to start having five course meals.

But, that is what many of us do and that is probably one of the root causes of our weight struggles.

If you do not start to eat your breakfast until dinner time, you are going to be famished when you walk in your front door.

There is a good chance that you might find yourself eating everything in sight, especially if you are struggling with losing weight.

This is a vicious cycle, is it not?

By now you should know that no matter how much you either try or end up starving yourself by skipping breakfast, it is not helping you.

Skipping breakfast does not and never will help you to lose weight and certainly not to get fit.

By skipping a good quality breakfast, you are depriving your body of nutrients and calories.

Why would you do that?

You know intuitively that if you eat a day’s worth of meals from 7 pm till whenever you fall to sleep, this type of overfeeding cannot be good for your body.

In fact, the overfeeding will lead to overweight and obesity.

So it is not a surprise that over 70 million americans are obese.

And that four out of 10 women are now obese.

You do not need to be a scientist to understand that stuffing yourself at the end of the day cannot be good for your health.

Let’s now answer our original question of whats a good breakfast to lose weight.

Have Breakfast in the First Place

First off, commit to having breakfast.

Whats a good breakfast to lose weight?

The breakfast habit is a great place to start.

Make sure that every day, you have breakfast.

This does not mean that you must have a ten course meal.

You have to break your night time fast.

Assuming that you did not go to sleep at 1, 2 or 3am with a belly full of food, you should be hungry in the morning.

If you are not hungry in the morning, we will address that issue with another habit soon.

But the first idea to get into your head if you want to get lean, get fit, get into better shape than ever before, is that you must not starve your body.

Your body needs nutrition to function, so don’t be cruel to your own body.

Decide that from now on, you will have a good breakfast to start the day.

Whats a good breakfast to lose weight?

Just catching the breakfast habit and chucking the breakfast skipping habit is going to help change your life around.

Get back to basics for food, by having regular meals starting earlier in the day and finishing them earlier in the evening.

Ancient Wisdom regarding a Good Breakfast

Even the well known Rabbi/Doctor/Philosopher of the 11th century, Maimonides, said that a person should finish their meals for the day at least 3 hours before going to sleep.

He also says that harmful food, in small quantities is not as damaging to the body as healthful food in large quantities, so, think again before believing that the huge bowl of oatmeal is much better than a little piece of dark chocolate and some wine.

In any case, the point is to start off the day with a good breakfast.

Break the fast of the previous night.

Maimonides also says that you should engage in some exercise, some movement, before eating your meal.

Hashi Mashi is a Good Breakfast to Lose Weight

Hashi Mashi is the name that I gave to my breakfast recipe during my ten month journey of losing 100 pounds.

I had the Hashi Mashi breakfast just about every day starting on June 21, 2012.

By March of 2013, I was a different person in more ways than just weight loss.

I credit having a good healthy breakfast with enabling me to succeed in losing weight and looking many years younger than before.

Hashi Mashi is basically 4 egg whites, with fresh vegetables, onion, mushroom, spinach, tomato, hummus, avocado and olives on the side.

Real Food, Real Simple

Do not overcomplicate your meals.

Keep your meals simple.

Maybe you do not like eggs.

You have many other options for breakfast.

Whats a good breakfast to lose weight ?

Real food and keep it really simple.

For example:

A slice of whole grain toast with peanut butter, celery and an orange.

Half a can of beans in sauce with some turkey and spinach.

An ezekiel muffin with tuna fish and some fresh vegetables.

Cottage cheese and fresh pineapple and cucumbers.

Plain greek yogurt and blueberries.

Eat green leafy vegetables throughout the day.

Drink water, preferably between meals and not during meals.

These days I have not had access to freshly made Hummus, so I substitute a cup of beans.

You do not have to be a gourmet cook to build a great physique.

You do have to look at your food as a friend and fuel for having a great day.

In summary, whats a good breakfast to lose weight ?

  1. Have Breakfast
  2. Have Real Food for Breakfast
  3. Such as Vegetables, Eggs, Yogurt, Whole Grain, Beans, Fruit
  4. Keep it Simple
  5. Do not overfeed, you want to be hungry in another few hours
  6. Enjoy the taste
  7. Look at your Food as Fuel
